Building for Africa: Why Context-First Technology Wins

When we started building BizitMart, the first thing we did was spend time with merchants. Not in a conference room — in their shops, their offices, their homes. What we found was that the problems they faced were real and practical: internet reliability, mobile-first customers, payment friction, and trust.

Building context-first means designing for these constraints from day one — not as an afterthought. It means offline modes, lightweight UIs, local payment rails, and pricing in local currency.
